The Yellow Door Art Space, Hahei.

Here’s a little hidden local gem. Every Tuesday night a bunch of local creatives have been gathering at the Yellow Door Art Space in Hahei. Welcome to everyone, the vibe is inspiring and encouraging. If you’re needing some creative connection, I highly recommend popping by and joining in. Or even just come be nosey, we won’t mind.

Set up by Hahei Artists Martinus Sarangapany and Becs Wood, this space is super welcoming and is a great way to touch base with other artists. I’ve found it a nice change of environment and a break away from my own studio space.

They currently have a printing press on loan, so I’ve taken that opportunity as a chance to experiment with wood block printing. Also having the established wood block artists Marky right there for guidance has been invaluable. It’s been super fun and rewarding, and hopefully some good pieces will come from it. It all leads somewhere right?
